FRET21: Saint-Gaudens plant commits to reducing carbon emissions
The environment remains a top priority for the Fibre Excellence group and its plants.
At the end of last year, Fibre Excellence SAINT-GAUDENS obtained ISO 50001 certification.
Today, aware of the importance of the challenges posed by global warming, the plant is going one step further and commits itself to the EVE (Engagements Volontaires pour l'Environnement) program and its FRET21 scheme. This voluntary approach enables the site, which delivers over 280,000 tonnes of pulp/year by road and sea, to better integrate the impact of transport into its sustainable development strategy.
In concrete terms, this commitment has resulted in the definition of a target to reduce GHG emissions from its transport and logistics flows by 14%, and the implementation of an action plan by the end of 2024.
